My name is
Don Balanzat.
I am all about
science,
extended reality (XR),
education/training,
and human spaceflight.
I currently develop XR software for the future of human spaceflight at Blue Origin. My dream is to use this technology to prepare humans for living and working in space. I believe in a future where space is accessible for all.
I have extensive experience with physical science simulation, instrumentation, and education from my work at Arizona State University from 2016 to 2022. I have a particular love for using science to inspire others to do cool things and see the beauty in the world.
I have also held various roles in the XR space doing software development, cognitive science, and UI/UX design for STEM at places like NASA-Goddard, METEOR Studio, and the Embodied Games Lab from 2019 to 2022.
In my spare time, I use my knowledge and enthusiasm to inspire STEAM thinkers through interactive public engagements.
Check out my physics videos and XR projects in the sections above, or see some of my photos below!
